Tractor is Looking for a Fospice Home

Name: Tractor
Age: 8 years old
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
Foster Period: 2 weeks

Hello! Allow me to introduce Tractor! He is our resident gentleman who is looking for a fospice home.

Tractor came into our care as a stray from the streets in Hayward. We’re not sure how long he was out there, but surely he was someone’s dog at some point in his life because he is such a nice dog! He loves people! The Good Samaritan that found him, easily scooped him up and brought him to us. He has done great with other dogs, though being an older gentleman he hasn’t engaged in much play, but will happily co-exist with his canine buddies. Has passed all our behavior tests with flying colors!

We had this sweet-natured guy set up for surgery to prepare him for adoption and found that his masses were actually skin cancer. Which means this guy was probably an outside only dog that we see too often here in the East Bay. Treatment is long road for the stage that poor Tractor is at, however, you’d never know he had it if you met him! He is fairly comfortable with his currently and would love to have a home outside of the shelter to experience the good life. And cancer isn’t his only feat that he’s wagging his tail through, he also has dental disease, scarring on his ears, and is a little on the heavy side. If you’d like to give this guy some love that he may have never experienced, please let us know! We would love for Tractor to know some of what being part of a family is like in his last few weeks with us.
